Buying and selling at Art Contact | Wannenes is a simple and attractive experience.

  • HOW TO BUY

      • Step 1

        Select your work of art

         

        Visit our auction calendar  to browse our upcoming sales on our website or app, or you can buy or subscribe our beautifully printed catalogues.

         

        During the week of the sale visit our exhibitions. It’s free of charge and all are welcome to join! We usually place works for public viewing four days before auction.

         

        If you are not able to attend the viewing, create your online account to follow upcoming sales and lots, view or ask for online conditions reports and set down your interests.

      • Step 2
        Bidding

         

        Come and experience the emotion of bidding in the saleroom: you will need to register in advance with the saleroom’s Client Service with your ID and collect a paddle before the auction begins.

         

        If you are unable to attend, one of our telephone bidder will call you during the sale, to rely your bids to the auctioneer. Call our office to register at least 24 hours before the auction. You can also submit an absentee bid in advance, at least 24 hours before the sale, and we will bid on the item for you.  Just submit your maximum bid by selecting the lot you wish to bid on.

         

        You can bid online on our website whilst watching the auction live and feel the excitement of the saleroom right to your computer. You should register at least 24 hours in advance of the sale.

        However you take part, settle your top price and choose when to stop bidding!

     

    • Step 3
      You have been successful

       

      If your bid is winning, you will receive an invoice setting out the hammer price plus all other applicable charges. We will give you details on how to pay, collection and storage information and shipping information, including a shipping quote.

  • HOW TO SELL

    • Step 1
      Request an estimate

       

      Who hasn’t wondered what something might be worth? You can request an auction estimate online or contact us and arrange an appointment with one of our specialists. We will be happy to give you a free estimate and appraisal of your work of art.

       

       
    • Step 2
      Complete a consignment agreement

       

      After having received our free estimate, you will discuss and agree the specifics with our specialists, such as auction estimates, reserve prices and seller’s commission. If you decide to collaborate with our company you will be asked to sign a consignment agreement, which lists all the terms agreed and the fees for our services.

       

      Should you feel that a public auction isn’t right for you, our company may be able to give you a different opportunity by arranging a private sale of your item.

    • Step 3
      Your property is on sale at auction

       

      We can help arrange delivery of your items to our offices, where will be photographed and catalogued.

       

      Before the sale we agree a reserve price with you, we won’t sale below this price at auction.

      Before the auction, you will receive our beautifully printed catalogue, where your property is offered for sale. You are welcome to attend the auction in person, or you can watch it online in case you are not able to join us in the saleroom.

       

      After the auction, you will receive a notification with the final selling price of your property. Approximately 30 working days after each auction, you will receive your payment, together with a statement listing your results, hammer prices less the commission agreed.
